WATCH: A Texas pastor shows how not to evangelize—by visiting a mall and telling kids Santa doesn’t exist

In what parallel universe did this man honestly think this stunt was a good idea?  What made him believe that upsetting children and angering parents —and causing a public spectacle—would somehow turn people to Christ?

Here’s the story: 

A Texas pastor targeted a group of children in line to see Santa Claus at Amarillo’s Westgate Mall, intent on telling all of them that good ol’ Saint Nick is not real. A video posted to YouTube shows David Grisham of Repent Amarillo and Last Frontier Evangelism shouting to kids that Santa isn’t real and that Christmas is about the birth of Jesus Christ. “There is no such thing as Santa Claus,” he yelled. “The Christmas season is about Jesus. Jesus was born 2016 years ago. He was born in a manger in a small town called Bethlehem. And that’s the truth about Christmas.” He told parents to “stop lying” to their children. “The man you’re going to see today is just a man in a suit, dressed up like Santa, but Santa does not exist,” he shouted.
