Joani and Trevion already had four daughters and when Joani was diagnosed with a medical condition that would prevent further pregnancy, the couple

:

“The good thing was our family was complete. So we weren’t really worried about that.”

The couple went about their lives accepting this diagnosis until:

Seven years later, the very same doctor who told them they would never again bear children dropped a bombshell. Joani was nine-and-a-half weeks pregnant. But that wasn’t all… Joani was pregnant with triplets! And identical triplets at that! To say everyone was shocked would be an understatement. According to Huggies, “There is no one, consistent statistic quoted when it comes to the odds of having identical triplets. But the generally agreed upon figures are in the vicinity of between one in 60 thousand to one in 200 million.” In addition, the more babies a pregnant woman carries, the greater the risk of pregnancy complications. Because Joani is so short and was carrying three babies, the chance of them all surviving was extremely low. And if they were to survive, then it meant Joani’s life would be at risk.

A lady at her church pointed her to an OB/GYN who felt confident that she would be alright carrying to term and her 3 babies were born at 27 weeks, nearly 3 months early, weighting 2.2lbs, 2.5lbs and 2.7lbs. After 10 weeks in intensive care, the three children were all able to go home with their parents and today, over a year later these three cuties are thriving.
