We have long been entertained by the recent trend of treating seemingly insignificant ‘feats’ as if they are incredibly impressive. This video, by Sebastian Linda, actually is quite impressive. If you’ve ever toyed around with a fingerboard you know it’s not as easy as it looks.
Skateboarders are undoubtedly some of the coolest professional athletes, but does that apply to fingerboarders as well, who perform impossible tricks with tiny decks just a few inches long? Normally, no, but through the lens of Sebastian Linda’s camera, what kid wouldn’t aspire to be a pro fingerboarder one day? Fingers of Steel takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the not-so-extreme sport, but with fast paced edits, slo-mo footage, and lovely cinematography, you’ll still walk away impressed with the skills on display here.
The video wouldn’t have worked if it wasn’t over the top and we’re glad it was. It brought us right back to our grade-school days.
