We’ve got a bunch of stories of our furry friends from around the world.

Dogs Can Actually Understand What You’re Saying to Them, Study Says – (Vice.com)

Studies have shown that dogs understand not just the intonation of human speech, but also many of our words and phrases:

They found that the canines’ left hemisphere picked up on the meaning of the words, regardless of the intonation, associating words with positive or negative experiences. That’s basically the same way humans respond to speech, too. “It shows that for dogs, a nice praise can very well work as a reward, but it works best if both words and intonation match,” the study’s head, Attila Andics, wrote in a statement. “So dogs not only tell apart what we say and how we say it, but they can also combine the two, for a correct interpretation of what those words really meant.”

This Cat Guided A Lost Man Down A Mountain In Switzerland – (Boredpanda.com)

We’ve heard of guide dogs, but never Sherpa cats:

Redditor sc4s2cg claims he got lost in Switzerland while hiking and eventually ended up in an abandoned town. “I was checking my map to see how I can get back to the hostel, and the only official way down was through a trail that was closed,” he said. Right at that moment a kitty showed up and guided the man to the valley, constantly looking back to check if the tourist was following it.

Woman Sees A Moving Garbage Bag On The Road, Stops Her Car To Save It – (boredpanda.com)

This is such a horrible story with a great ending. This little pup was in so much trouble, but now he’s living the good life:

“I saw this trash bag in the road, and I thought to myself, ‘Did I just see that bag move?’ The closer I got, I realized it was moving,” Lewis told The Dodo. “I could hardly wrap my mind around that. Something was alive in that bag, and I just knew I had to get whatever it was out.”

While reincarnation is not a Catholic belief, this is still the only movie we’re looking forward to this year:
