On Monday, 4 March 2013, the cardinals convened for the General Congregations, leading to the election today, March 13, 2013, of Jorge Mario Cardinal Bergoglio, S.J. as Pope Francis I.  Aleteia will be adding new stories about Pope Francis I every day over the coming week as we prepare for his coronation and Pope Francis I begins to lead God's people.  We will come to know him together and learn how he will confront the challenges of the Church and the world.
