Aleteia Expert Makoto Fujimura shows modern art can be integrated with the Christian faith

Crossway Books commissioned modern artist Makoto Fujimura in 2010 to make an illuminated version of the four Gospels in commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the King James Version of the Bible. His work was released in early 2011. The video below chronicles the project, explaining his vision, and shows how he as a Christian has been able to break into the New York art scene.

Makoto Fujimura is an Aleteia Expert who is recognized worldwide as a cultural shaper. A Presidential appointee to the National Council on the Arts from 2003-2009, Fujimura served as an international advocate for the arts, speaking with decision makers and advising governmental policies on the arts.
