Father Steve noted the significance of the occupancy date, October 1—the feast of St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus. A statue of St. Thérèse stands in the Church of the Resurrection, and the parish is devoted to her “little way.”

Dr. Roumell, the abortionist who will be leaving the WomanCare of Lansing site before October 1, operates several other clinics, including one in the northern Detroit suburb of Rochester Hills. Both he and his clinics have engendered a lot of controversy, however.
Dr. Roumell took over WomanCare of Lansing from the infamous abortionist Alberto Hodari, who had been charged in the deaths of four patients who underwent abortions at his clinics. Hodari also faced a lawsuit from a woman who claimed he aborted her child illegally, after she had withdrew her consent. Dr. Hodari was known for refusing to wash his hands between surgical procedures, putting women in danger of infection and death because, he explained, frequent handwashing “chafed his hands.”
Roumell also has a police record that includes charges for willfully striking pro-life activist Lynn Mills with his car in 2012. That event was caught on video and reported by Jill Stanek In April 2014, Dr. Roumell was fined and reprimanded for illegally dispensing pharmaceuticals.

Asked on August 8 whether Dr. Roumell is seeking another Lansing-area site for his abortion practice, staff at the WomanCare of Lansing clinic declined to comment..
