Have you taken the ice bucket challenge? Are you willing to suffer discomfort for a few moments for the sake of those who suffer a lot of discomfort for months and years?

How about a challenge to give up half an hour of your time, for the sake of Christian brothers and sisters who have been forced out of their homes and are living in fear and uncertainty?

A bishop in Iraq has launched a challenge to go to church on Tuesday, August 26, to pray for half an hour for the persecuted Christians of Iraq.

Chaldean Catholic Auxiliary Bishop Saad Syroub of Baghdad, in his video appeal, is also suggesting that participants take pictures of themselves during the half hour and offer ideas through social networks.

Aleteia is supporting the challenge. We invite you to pray for Iraq and tweet your photos to #PrayForIrak.
