Katie Holmes stars in The Giver, a film that is getting mixed reviews with many reporting faith is a theme throughout the movie.
Katie plays the mother of a 16-year-old who has been chosen to become the giver and keeper of pain and happiness for his controlled society.
Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges also appear in the film. Bridges is also a producer.
The film is an adaptation of the 1994 Newberry Medal wining book by Lois Lowry, about a place that initially appears as a utopian society but in realty is quite the opposite.
