"8 Minutes" by John Burger, is a story highlighting the unique ministry of a California minister involved in trying to rescue women from the vice of prostitution. While few may feel "equipped" for such work, there is one thing we can all do when we happen upon those less fortunate than ourselves, and that it is to pray for their salvation and well-being. The quiet prayer of the heart, offered in faith, can made a huge difference.

"Syria: The Loss of an Entire Generation of Children" reveals the alarming news that: More than 7 million people have been displaced within Syria, unemployment is at 54%, there is a 50% reduction in the numbers attending school and that more than 150,000 people have died since the beginning of the recent conflict. Syria is desperately in need of our prayers and of international assistance.

In John Burger’s a
"Big Step Forward" we read about the surprise by some Orthodox at the revelation that the Catholic Church does not seem to be demanding a "take over" of Orthodoxy as a pre-requisite for unity. In fact, unity with the East seems closer than ever before!

Our God is holy and such "abuses" will not go unpunished. May God help these people .. and those who approve of them)

Mandatory celibacy may have contributed to clerical abuse “in some circumstances,” a body helping the Catholic Church to respond to the Australian Royal Commission on abuse has said (Something many of us have said for many years. Only time will tell if the requirement for mandatory celibacy will be reviewed but there’s one ray of hope .. it’s not a
Scriptural requirement and was not a requirement imposed by Christ so, if we follow His lead .. we should end up in the right place!)
