Women Make the World More Human and Welcoming, Says Pope

Diane Montagna - published on 03/08/15

Pontiff greets and blesses all women on International Women's Day

VATICAN CITY — Pope Francis Sunday greeted and blessed women across the world, on International Women’s Day. Addressing a packed St. Peter’s Square from his studio in the Apostolic Palace on a warm Sunday morning in Rome, the Pope thanked women who dedicate themselves to making the world a more human and welcoming place. He also expressed his gratitude especially to women who, in the home and elsewhere, bear witness to the Gospel and work for the upbuilding of the Church.
