Rome’s Chief Exorcist Shares Secrets for Driving Out the Devil

Diane Montagna - published on 04/20/15

EXCLUSIVE: Video footage of Fr. Gabriele Amorth's message to priests and blessing

ROME — Rome’s chief exorcist has delineated the three key attributes a priest needs to be effective in casting out demons. Aleteia has exclusively obtained this video of Fr. Gabriele Amorth, of the diocese of Rome, reputed to be one of the world’s leading exorcists and to have cleansed tens of thousands of demonic possessions.

In this rare video shot just days ago, Fr. Amorth — who turns 90 on May 1st— explains why the Sacrament of Reconciliation is so essential for an exorcist, and the source of an exorcist’s power to command Satan to depart from those who are possessed.

Watch this video for a rare glimpse of the legendary exorcist Fr. Amorth, who gives a powerful blessing at the end that you won’t want to miss.

The video was made for, and shown to, priests at last week’s course on Exorcism, held at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome, April 13-18.
