Meet Pastor Don Piper, the Man Who Claims He Spent 90 Minutes in Heaven

Zoe Romanowsky - published on 09/11/15

Don and Eva Piper tell Aleteia how a near-death experience changed their lives

In 1989, Pastor Don Piper was traveling home from a  conference when he was hit by a semi truck and declared dead by paramedics. After a minister came to the car and prayed with Piper, his pulse returned and when he awoke, he claimed to have experienced heaven.

Pastor Piper eventually wrote a book about his experience, which became a best-seller. Now, a movie has been released based on the book: 90 Minutes In Heaven stars Hayden Christensen and Kate Bosworth. (David Ives recently reviewed the film for Aleteia.)

Don Piper and his wife, Eva, sat down with Aleteia’s Zoe Romanowsky to talk about Don’s near-death experience, and how it has changed their lives.
