Samaritan's Purse is one organization helping those who come with nothing but wet clothes on their backs
Every day thousands of refugees arrive on the shores of Lesvos, Greece. While those that make it are relieved to be alive, it is but a first step on a very long journey many of them will take. Some will stay in camps while their paperwork is processed while others will end up deported. All have their sights set on making it to a European country where they can find greater safety and security. Many who come are women and children, fathers and young people. Various organizations and individuals are helping to ease the hardships of these refugees, and one of them is Samaritan’s Purse, a Christian aid group whose volunteers are stationed at several places across Europe distributing supplies and assistance as needed.
