What if Pain Were to Lead Us to Happiness?

Sister Cristina - published on 02/11/16

"Blessed Be Your Name"

Blessed be Your name, On the road marked with suffering,
Though
there’s pain in the offering…

The story of Cristina Scuccia has gone around the globe. A young lady, a religious sister, and today also a singer. In Italy she is considered to be an unlikely phenomenon, while abroad she is an established fact, a way of expressing and communicating the faith through love of the art that most elevates the human soul — music — deeply touching the hearts of young people.
It wasn’t easy for Sr. Cristina to reconcile her vocational choice with her greatest passion.

“On the road marked with suffering
thought there’s pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name ”

Even if the road we’re on is marked with suffering and difficulty, even if there’s pain in what we offer Him, may His name be blessed forever. It’s a completely dormant concept in a postmodern society, where all pain is anesthetized at the bud. But what if it were precisely that pain that would lead us to happiness?

“My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name ”

My heart will choose to say, Lord, blessed be Your name; love and faith in God are also a free choice.

Thank you to Sr. Cristina for having chosen, we applaud you!
