A couple named the Kurokis live on a farm in Shintomi, Japan. Because of her diabetes, Ms. Kuroki is blind, and she was sad and depressed. To cheer her up, her husband devoted two years to planting thousands of pink flowers in her garden, which now receives more than 7,000 visitors a year. It has gladdened his wife, who walks in the mornings and afternoons amongst the flowers, enjoying their delicious scent.
