Right after Christmas, a 12-year-old boy gave what might have been the most significant gift of the year to his friend Gabby — his hair.

For two years, Tyler has grown out his hair in order to cut it for Gabby, who has suffered from a hair loss disorder called alopecia since she was 4. Made fun of for “looking like a girl” with his long hair style, Tyler got used to the teasing and says it was all worth it.

A local news channel featured the story of Tyler and Gabby’s trip to a mall for the momentous hair cut. The locks will be used to make Gabby a wig.
