Watch the Roman Empire rise and fall in 10 minutes

From the Early Roman Kingdom to the Eastern Roman Byzantine Empire, it's all here.

As we’ve done in the past with animated maps of the spread of Christianity and the unfolding of civilization, we now want to share with you a 10-minute-long cartographic animation, published by YouTube user “Emperor Tigerstar,” showing the history of the Roman Empire from the Early Roman Kingdom to the Eastern Roman Byzantine Empire. That’s, broadly speaking, from 509 BC to 1400 AD.
