On Whitsun Sunday (Pentecost) pilgrims wearing traditional Andalusian costume process with “trolleys” (pushcarts) during the annual pilgrimage in which hundreds of thousands of devotees of the Virgin del Rocio converge in and around the shrine to pray the Rosary by candlelight and then in the morning make their way to the High Mass at El Real del Rocío.
