There’s a tropical island full of puppies waiting to be played with. Seriously!

Adopt a Dog

As if you needed one more reason to head to the Caribbean ...

In some ways, Potcake Place is just like any other dog shelter, except that it’s based on the tropical island of Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, and they happen to need help socializing the puppies that are up for adoption. That means they’ll let you volunteer to take one of the puppies down to the beach for the day.

Of course, should you be unwilling to part with your pup after the day, they will also be happy to let you adopt him and help you work out all the paperwork. They do background checks on potential owners, but after that and a trip to the vet, you’re set to go.

“Potcake” is the name given to dogs from the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos islands, because the locals used to feed them the caked remains from used pots. Over time, they have evolved into an intelligent and loyal breed. Sadly, though, many of these dogs are currently homeless, which is why Potcake Place was founded to find them homes.

So should you find yourself on the island of Providenciales on your next vacation, be sure to give the Potcake Place (and all their adorable puppies) a visit!
