The best ad of the summer (really!) will have you weeping

Zelda Caldwell - published on 08/28/17

Watch the story of a father and daughter unfold in this powerful ad for Windex.

Warning: This powerful ad from Windex, which follows the story of a father and daughter from birth to her adulthood, will have you in tears.

As we follow a father from the time he first sees his newborn daughter until he sees her happily and securely ready to take on adulthood, we are reminded of the importance of a father’s involvement in a young girl’s life.

And the research bears that out: girls need their dads. Recent studies have shown that a close relationship between a father and a daughter provides a secure bond for a young woman to go out and explore the world on their own. Girls who grow up with their fathers are less prone to depression and anxiety, better able to handle every-day stress, and less likely to live in poverty.

But back to the weeping … If the video alone doesn’t make you tear up, turn up the volume. The hauntingly beautiful soundtrack, featuring, the song “Beautiful Thing” by  13-year-old America’s Got Talent winner Grace VanderWaal, will be sure to get you.
