As we follow a father from the time he first sees his newborn daughter until he sees her happily and securely ready to take on adulthood, we are reminded of the importance of a father’s involvement in a young girl’s life.

And the research bears that out: girls need their dads. Recent studies have shown that a close relationship between a father and a daughter provides a secure bond for a young woman to go out and explore the world on their own. Girls who grow up with their fathers are less prone to depression and anxiety, better able to handle every-day stress, and less likely to live in poverty.
