Just recently it finally became visible from earth ...

“One hundred thirty million years ago, while dinosaurs still walked the earth, a pair of dead stars collided …” So begins the intergalactic tale.

One of the New York Times most viewed videos of the year gives us the chance to see the effects of this kilonova explosion, 130 million years in the making. The “greatest fireworks show in the universe” is finally detectable from earth.
