Great mothers are always there for us, so why remember them only one day of the year when you can immortalize them through a painting?

Many artists, like Whistler and Van Gogh, did just that. In their cases, they wanted to paint portraits of their mothers to keep them close to their hearts. But other artists focused on simple, seemingly small acts of love between mother and child that occur every single day.

Regardless, these beautiful images of mothers with their children reveal that even the tiniest, everyday acts of being a mother are important and every moment is worth being remembered forever.
