Did you forget to pray? Here’s how to make prayer a firm habit that sticks

Chautard gives a formula that you can adapt to your own personal needs.

It’s easy to say that we are going to pray every day. Then “life happens” and we find ourselves back to our old routines.

What can we do to be more faithful to our prayer lives?

French Trappist monk Dom Jean-Baptiste Chautard wrote in his popular book, The Soul of the Apostolateseveral keys that can help a person remain committed to daily prayer. One of those keys is to make a firm resolution to pray in the midst of your work.

Often we say that we will pray every day, but rarely do we formalize our goal and make it into actionable items. We do this for work, why can’t we do it for our prayer life?

Here is a set of sample resolutions that Chautard provides, giving us some ideas as to how we can be more deliberate about prayer.
