A new video version of the Catechism was presented today in Rome.

It comprises 25 hours of video divided into 46 episodes.

The project is the culmination of five years of work, thousands of actors, and 4,000 readers with varied life experiences.

Following the lead of Pope Francis, “We are taking the Catechism out into the public square, among the people, to the peripheries,” director Gjon Kolndrekaj told Vatican News.

Archbishop Rino Fisichella, president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization, presented the project today at the Pontifical Gregorian University.

Fisichella emphasized the value of this work in which “visual beauty is combined with the depth of the texts.”

The video experience is something that would be “difficult to achieve by the mere personal reading of the catechism,” added the prelate.
