It’s hard to believe that 2018 is already nearing its end, but that only means that it’s time for the 3rd annual CECILIA CATHOLIC MUSIC AWARDS. Three years ago, on the feast day of our namesake who is patroness of musicians, CECILIA MUSIC, (a special music project sponsored by Aleteia) began a mission to promote international Catholic recording artists and music that is good, true, and beautiful.

This year saw a lot of remarkable recordings released by faithful musicians all over the world, in just about every genre. Though there may be differences in styles, they share themes of faith, love, and hope, which unites them as Catholics and as artists.

Bravo to all of these hard-working artists, who have put so much of themselves and their faith into their craft. It is a tremendous gift to be so musically talented and we thank them all for sharing their gift with the world.

Cecilia Music began just three years ago as a special project from Aleteia and it is still young, but we’re growing. While we do not have golden statues to hand out, we offer these artists our prayers. It may be a humble prize, but it is one of great power and potential! Today, the 22nd of November 2018, we will be praying for each one of these artists, for their professional and personal intentions, at the Basilica of St. Cecilia, Patron of Musicians, in Rome.

Happy feast day of St. Cecilia to all!

Love,

Cecilia Music
