The Frassati Fellowship is an invitation to embark on a journey of prayer, formation and pilgrimage.
With the administration of vaccines to prevent the spread of COVID-19 now underway, it’s beginning to seem likely that travel will soon be possible. This is wonderful news for residents of the Holy Land, whose livelihood depends on tourism, and for those seeking to deepen their faith with a holy pilgrimage
The Catholic pilgrimage company Verso Ministries is now taking applications for a nine-day pilgrimage to the Holy Land from July 14-22, 2021. The inaugural Frassati Fellowship is offered to those who are involved in Catholic ministry, whether as volunteers, full- or part-time workers, or those engaged in full-time graduate studies in theology, divinity, or related fields.
The journey of the Frassati fellows will begin before they embark on their pilgrimage, as fellows will meet virtually for bi-monthly meetings, that will include prayer and formational activities with the program’s teachers and mentors. The pilgrimage itself includes visits to Bethlehem, Nazareth, Jerusalem, and the Sea of Galilee. Following the trip, the Fellows will present a capstone project based on their experiences.
“The singular mission of Verso Ministries is to bring people closer to Jesus Christ through the experience of pilgrimage. From the inspiration and example of our patron saint, Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, we created the Frassati Fellowship to fuel continued leadership, creativity, and commitment within the Church,” said Verso Founder and CEO John Paul Lichon. “Ultimately, we hope to help rejuvenate and deepen our Fellows’ call to Catholic ministry.”
How does one apply?
Program cost is $2,499, plus the cost of round-trip airfare to Israel. This final cost includes a $2,000 scholarship courtesy of Verso Ministries.
Applications can be completed online at www.VersoMinistries.com/Frassati-Fellowship and must include a personal statement, current resume, and letter of support from a supervisor or religious superior. The application deadline is March 15, 2021. Finalists will be invited to a virtual interview, and decisions for the 2021 cohort of 25 will be communicated the week of April 5.
