Here's how to make the most out of your well-meaning intentions.

When a close friend or family member becomes seriously ill, our first reaction is to make well-meaning promises to help out. However, too often these kind offers go to waste, or they don’t really suit the person in need. What might appear practical help to some might be pretty inconvenient for the person who needs the help.

With this in mind, here are some ways to be of real help to a loved one when they might need you the most but don’t know how to ask.
