Traveling always involves risk, whether it is traveling around the world, or even getting out of your bed in the morning!
Here is a short prayer for safe travels, adapted from the Roman Breviary.
O God, Who made the children of Israel to walk with dry feet through midst of the sea and Who opened unto the three wise men by the guiding of a star the way that led unto You, grant us good speed and safe travels that Your holy Angel may be with us and that we may happily come to our destination and in the end unto the haven of eternal salvation.
