Whenever we feel prideful, let us pray the centurion's prayer of humility.

We are all tempted to pride, and sometimes that temptation is too difficult to overcome.

We think too highly of ourselves and chose our way of doing things, instead of God’s way.

In response to such a temptation to pride, let us pray the centurion’s prayer of humility found in the Gospel and adapted in the responses at Mass.

Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul will be healed.
