St. Louis remains a powerful example of a Catholic leader who took his faith seriously. He had a rich spiritual life and tried to do what he could to be a good and holy king.
Here is a short prayer to St. Louis that can be used to intercede for all politicians, praying that they may be similarly inspired to seek the Kingdom of God, instead of the earthly rewards of their political power.
O God, who brought Saint Louis from the cares of earthly rule to the glory of a heavenly realm, grant, we pray, through his intercession, that, by fulfilling our duties on earth, we may seek out your eternal Kingdom. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
