Catholic prayer to be filled with the love of Jesus

Ask God to fill you with the same love that filled St. Margaret Mary Alacoque.

While we know that we need to love Jesus, we may not always feel that love in our heart. At times it may seem like we are simply going through the motions, and not actually experiencing love for Jesus.

Here is a prayer invoking the intercession of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, a saint known for her deep love of Jesus, specifically in his Sacred Heart.

Pour out on us, we pray, O Lord,
the spirit with which you so remarkably endowed
Saint Margaret Mary,
so that we may come to know
that love of Christ which surpasses all understanding
and be utterly filled with your fullness.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
