The actor is Catholic and his little girl knows and loves the Virgin Mary.

The viral video shows the delighted reaction of an adorable 2-year-old when her dad unwraps an oil painting of Our Lady of Guadalupe that he bought for her while he was away for work.

Her joyful expression would merit attention on its own, but the video got extra views because of the family involved: her “papa” is actor David Henrie, famous for his roles in How I Met Your Mother and Wizards of Waverly Place (Disney Channel), among others.

His wife, Maria Cahill, with whom he has two children—a 2-year-old daughter, Pia, and baby boy who is not yet a year old—is a former Miss Delaware, and a devout Catholic. Henrie himself was raised Catholic and reportedly rediscovered his faith in recent years.

In the video in question, the 32-year-old actor says, “This is a hand-painted oil painting …” —and Pia interjects, “Oh, Papa! Hey, Papa!”— “of guess who?” She gasps as she sees the image and exclaims: “Gaayupe!” Henrie then confirms, “Guadalupe!” laughing in delight with his daughter.

Here is his text accompanying the video:

HER REACTION AT THE END 😂 after weeks on the road I got Pia an oil painting of an image she’s obsessed with right now. Always get your kids presents when you travel! It was always my favorite thing. My fav comment from my Tiktok was “someone’s abuela is reincarnate in your daughter 😂” haha 🇲🇽 🥰

The painting of Our Lady of Guadalupe that he bought her is certainly beautiful, but the original is nothing less than miraculous! You can read more about the image, its symbolism and its impact here on Aleteia.
