Christ the King novena for politicians: Day 8

CHRIST THE KING SWIEBODZIN POLAND

By Pajor Pawel | Shutterstock

Christ the King of Świebodzin (Poland), the tallest statue of Christ in the world (33 meters high for the body to which 3 meters must be added for the crown... and 16 meters of embankment), made of stone and reinforced concrete, by a retired Polish priest, Sylwester Zawadzki, between 2005 and 2010. The height of the body symbolizes the 33 years of Christ's life, and his majestic crown, his title as "Christ King," triumphant over the Earth.

The politics of peace can draw inspiration from the Magnificat ...

The politics of peace, conscious of and deeply concerned for every situation of human vulnerability, can always draw inspiration from the Magnificat, the hymn that Mary, the Mother of Christ the Saviour and Queen of Peace, sang in the name of all mankind:

“He has mercy on those who fear him in every generation. He has shown the strength of his arm; he has scattered the proud in their conceit. He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up the lowly; …for he has remembered his promise of mercy, the promise he made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children for ever” (Lk 1:50-55).

~Pope Francis, Message for World Day of Peace, January 1, 2019

Prayer:

O Lord our God, You alone are the Most Holy King and Ruler of all nations.
We pray to You, Lord, in the great expectation of receiving from You, O Divine King, mercy, peace, justice and all good things.

Protect, O Lord our King, our families and the land of our birth.
Guard us we pray Most Faithful One.

Protect us from our enemies and from Your Just Judgment

Forgive us, O Sovereign King, our sins against you.
Jesus, You are a King of Mercy.
We have deserved Your Just Judgment

Have mercy on us, Lord, and forgive us.
We trust in Your Great Mercy.
O most awe-inspiring King, we bow before You and pray;
May Your Reign, Your Kingdom, be recognized on earth.

Amen.
