The protection of all human life is a specific issue that is at the heart of the Christian religion. Whether a person is a baptized Catholic or an evangelical Christian, the protection of life should be a primary focus.
St. John Paul II prayed in his encyclical Evangelium Vitae that all Christians would join together in protecting life. We can pray this prayer today, asking God to unite all Christians in the effort to proclaim the “Gospel of Life.”
Grant that all who believe in your Son
may proclaim the Gospel of life
with honesty and love
to the people of our time.Obtain for them the grace
to accept that Gospel
as a gift ever new,
the joy of celebrating it with gratitude
throughout their lives
and the courage to bear witness to it.
