Christian singer/songwriter Kira Fontana had a very special release on Valentine’s Day. The artist shared the story of how God led her to her husband, Nic, during the height of the world pandemic, when she had all but given up on dating. Their heartwarming story comes in support of her new song “Heaven Sent,” which she sang at their wedding as her vows.

Trust in God

Fontana explained in a press release that the pair was married just 30 days after they first met. The singer revealed that she had been single for years; a string of heartbreaks had made her wary of the dating world. Becoming disillusioned with modern means of dating, Kira decided to ask the Lord for help. She said:

“One day, it came to a critical turning point – and I just prayed and asked God to be my matchmaker. I decided to get off dating sites, put all my trust in God … and wait.”

Kira didn’t have long to wait. Soon after, she found herself at a church group conference when she was approached by a woman she didn’t know. This complete stranger informed her that she had suddenly received a “picture of a man” who was meant for her. Kira said that this happened again the following day:

“The next day, a second woman I met said, ‘someone’s popping into my head for you right now’ … and it turned out to be the same man! I was floored!”

The one

Thankfully, these strangers knew the man they had envisioned and had his contact information. It took a few months for Nic to build up the nerve to call Kira, but their first conversation turned into a four-hour discussion. The pair decided to go on a date, but with limited options during the pandemic, they settled on a walk:

“So we went for a walk, and it turned into 9 hours of talking. I had a radical conversion to Christianity as an adult, and so did he. We shared a deep passion for God’s kingdom … and we both refused to settle when it came to love.”

It only took Kira and Nic a few weeks to identify each other as their soul mates. Kira explained that the two found a natural rapport that felt more than comfortable:

“I have never experienced anything like it. There was no fear, no worry about the future, no questions or hesitation … just total peace. It was a peace beyond anything I had ever felt… along with a clear knowing that God had chosen my husband for me. I was so floored by the way He answered my prayer!”

“Heaven Sent”

It was at about the time when Kira realized they were meant to be that she was suddenly hit with a melody. Drawing on her feelings for Nic, the esteemed Hollywood vocal coach added lyrics to it that would become her wedding vows.

The pair were married just one month after they met, but it was over a year until they could celebrate their wedding ceremony with family and friends. Kira kept the song a secret for that whole time until she performed it for Nic, for the first time, at their wedding.

A video of Kira singing her vows, featured above, was released with her new single “Heaven Sent,” the song inspired by her husband. The clip shows the couple is so enraptured with each other that they just stand there giggling at first. The melody adds an extra layer of sweetness to the heartfelt vows that Kira expresses.
