The relationship between a mother and child is so special, and a recent viral video captured that bond in a sweet and funny way.

A young broadcast journalist, Myles Harris, was on the job filming a news segment when a car rolled up behind him. It turned out to be his mom! His videographer, DeAngelo Byrd, caught the whole exchange.

“This is my mom, hold on,” Harris says in the short video that’s now gone viral. Then the reporter’s mom, Sandi, stops her car and calls out, “Hi, baby!”

“I’m trying to work right now, and you’re over there calling my phone,” Harris responds with a laugh.

Harris shared the moment on his Instagram account:

“She always wants a front-row seat. Number-one cheerleader,” he said in an interview after the video went viral.

You can see his mother’s pride in him and her excitement when she spots her son at work. She’s clearly his biggest cheerleader, and it’s heartwarming to see.

Myles and Sandi have appeared on a number of news outlets together since their funny exchange. In another post, Myles shared a photo kissing his mom and calling her his “best friend”:

Parents everywhere know that feeling of excitement and pride when we see our kids excel at something they love to do. And parents of teens and young adults know all too well that sometimes our enthusiasm can be a little embarrassing to our kids.

Hopefully Harris’s lighthearted reaction to his mom reminds young adults to appreciate mom and dad’s excitement instead of shrugging it off. It’s refreshing to see how Myles took his mom’s interruption patiently in stride.

In any case, the funny yet touching video is a delightful celebration of a mother’s love. That’s something to appreciate and celebrate even when there are no news cameras rolling.
