Suffering and pain can seem pointless, but in God's eyes, they can bring us an even greater reward.

Often when we are enduring pain, whether it is spiritual or physical, we can be tempted to think that it is worthless.

Yet, in God’s eyes, all suffering and pain can be a pathway to an eternal reward.

This is especially true whenever we look at a crucifix, recognizing the intense pain that Jesus endured to open the gates of Heaven to us.

Here is a short Bible verse from the prophet Isaiah that can help us recognize the beauty that can come from pain.

But I said, “I have labored in vain,
    I have spent my strength for nothing and vanity;
yet surely my right is with the Lord,
    and my recompense with my God
.”

I am honored in the eyes of the Lord,
    and my God has become my strength
.

Isaiah 49:4-5
