In greeting compatriots of Pope St. John Paul II at the end of the April 27 general audience, Pope Francis had a special prayer through the intercession of the Polish saint:
Today, on the eighth anniversary of the canonization of St. John Paul II, through his intercession, let us ask to be faithful witnesses of Christ and his merciful love in the world, in the family, and in the workplace.
On that same day, April 27, 2014, Pope St. John XXIII was also canonized.
