Quick prayers to Jesus and Mary when tempted

Pray these short prayers to Jesus and Mary when you are feeling especially tempted to choose what is wrong.

At times it can be difficult to resist temptation, but the good news is that God can supply us with the graces we need to say, “No,” to whatever it is that is tempting us.

One good habit to try is to pray a short prayer to Jesus and Mary, asking for their help in your time of need.

Here is an example you can try out, from the Catholic prayer book and manual of meditations.

When you are tempted to anger, say, “My Jesus, give me patience. Bless me, Mary, my Mother!“

If wicked thoughts come in your mind, say quickly, “Jesus and Mary, help me!“

Repeat the Hail Mary or some other prayer until you have banished temptations.
