While most Catholics are familiar with the prayer before meals, fewer take-part in the prayer after meals.

Similar to the prayer before meals, there is technically no right way to pray after meals, and Catholics are free to use their own prayers they prefer.

Regardless, here are the words of the most common Catholic prayer after meals.

We give thee thanks, almighty God,
for all your benefits,
who lives and reigns forever and ever.

And may the souls of the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen
