St. Elizabeth, who had a devout love of the Trinity, composed this brief and beautiful prayer.
Just one verse each day.
On the solemnity of the Ascension of Jesus in 2000, St. John Paul II ended his homily with a prayer of St. Elizabeth of the Trinity.
St. Elizabeth was a Carmelite nun in the early 20th century and is often compared to St. Therese of Lisieux.
Here is a short prayer of adoration to the Trinity, asking God to dwell within her.
O my God, Trinity whom I adore,
help me to forget myself entirely
that I may be established in you
as still and peaceful as if my soul were already in eternity.
Give peace to my soul; make it your heaven,
your beloved dwelling and your resting place.
O my Three, my All, my Beatitude, infinite Solitude,
Immensity in which I lose myself,
I surrender myself to you,
until I depart to contemplate in your light the abyss of your greatness.
