From Fr. Basil Maturin

Fr. Basil Maturin (+1915):

In its loneliness and desolation, there are two offers of help constantly appealing to the soul. One to give up the struggle and find peace by surrender—the offer from below. The strife and suffering, it says, spring from fighting against your own nature. The other comes from above. Our Lord says: You cannot fight this battle alone; you were never intended to; I will help you. Come and learn in the school in which I will teach you and give you strength. There you will find the light that never fails, the grace that imparts eternal youth and vigor.
