Thanks to the efforts of one man, these young Ugandan athletes are pushing their limits and staying out of trouble.

A video has emerged on social media of a group of Ugandan children using their God-given talents to stay out of trouble.

In the short clip from Level Fitness, the young men are doing some impressive acrobatics. Yet, not only can these youngsters pull off some flips that will have you holding your breath, they also do it in less than perfect conditions.

The boys are practicing their gymnastics in what seems to be a landfill, with all sorts of sharp objects underfoot. Although most of us would wince at the thought of pulling off these moves even in sneakers, these gymnasts flip, twist, and land from great heights, and their only reaction is joy.

The idea behind getting these teens tumbling is to keep them focused on something positive, and to stay away from crime, which is rife in Uganda. And it’s all thanks to a man called Eries, who is supporting these boys — quite literally as they train — and by offering them an alternative to criminal activity.

Some of the youngsters have dreams to one day participate in the Olympics. And who knows, with their dedication and skills we might get to see them on our screens in years to come!

It’s certainly worth watching the video with your kids, not only so that they can see how impressive these Ugandan boys are, but also to remind them that they shouldn’t take for granted all the sporting facilities and opportunities they probably have.
