A young pilot thanks his parents the first time they fly on his commercial flight

Jordi Jacas – that's the young pilot's name – has more than 75,000 followers on Instagram where he’s been sharing his day-to-day life for 5 years at work among airports, airplanes, runways, and clouds. He’s living a dream he had since he was a child and which his parents always supported.

Now that his parents were on a plane with him, he wanted to thank them publicly. So he took the microphone and, after introducing himself and saying good morning, said:

Jordi's mother and father were in the front row. In the video they look a bit nervous and very excited. The father is drinking a glass of wine that has just been poured. The mother is restless, and she takes off her mask, wiping away the tears that come out of her joy.

Jordi speaks from the heart. He knows that getting there has meant a lot of effort on the part of his family: 

And after the typical words thanking the passenger for flying with his airline, he added,  “Thank you for everything, Mom and Dad …”

The crew already knew what was about to happen. Someone took it upon themselves to record the parents, which the pilot shared on his Instagram account..

The people on the plane applauded at the end, and that applause has been virtually echoed across the internet; it has accrued nearly half a million likes since he posted it on January 26.

With his posts, Jordi Jacas transmits professional enthusiasm, effort, motivation, teamwork. He doesn't post very often, but his charisma and attitude have earned him a huge following. This show of gratitude for his parents – which has been featured on various television stations – has surely earned him even more followers. May he always fly safely and bring his passengers safely to their destinations.
