Princess of Wales seems biblically inspired with update on cancer

Princess of Wales video announcement - Sept 9 2024

In a break from usual royal announcements, Catherine's message to royal fans was bursting with family affection.

In March the world was shocked to see a more vulnerable looking Princess of Wales announce that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy. Her message came after months of speculation about Catherine's whereabouts that was often hurtful.

Now, nearly six months later, and after nine months of preventative chemotherapy, the British princess has been able to share a more positive message with the world. And it's not only full of optimism, but of touching family moments.

The heartfelt message shared how difficult the journey has been not only for the princess, but her family, too:

The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown."

Yet, the poignant message also pointed out how her medical diagnosis made her focus on the essentials in life:

With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything. This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved."

It is exactly that joy of "simply loving and being loved" that stands out throughout the intimate family video. Watching the love between the prince and princess, and their children, was not only heartwarming, but showed that their happiness stemmed from being together as a family. And that was of much greater value than any jewel or crown they get to wear.

While Catherine thanked all her well-wishers for their "kindness, empathy and compassion," which proved to be very humbling to the 42-year-old, she also offered her continued support to all those suffering with cancer.

To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand."

Her message finally ends with some powerful words that seem inspired straight from the Bible. Advice that can apply to anyone facing any difficulties in life:

Out of darkness, can come light so let that light shine bright."

We pray for the continued recovery of the princess, as well as all those battling cancer.
