Program for 9 days of mourning for Pope Francis

It will then continue for the following eight days with Masses dedicated in particular to certain categories of people connected with the pontiff.

Program for the novendiales (April 27–May 4)

Second day of the novendiales: Sunday, April 27, 10:30 a.m., in St. Peter's Square. For Vatican employees and faithful. Celebrated by Cardinal Pietro Parolin, former Secretary of State. The 80,000 participants announced for the Jubilee for Adolescents are also expected to attend.

Third day of the novendiales: Monday, April 28, 5:00 p.m., in St. Peter's Basilica. For the faithful of Rome. Celebrated by Cardinal Baldassare Reina, vicar of the pope for the diocese of Rome.

Fourth day: Tuesday, April 29, 5:00 p.m., in St. Peter's Basilica. For the chapters of the papal basilicas. Celebrated by Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, archpriest of St. Peter's Basilica.

Fifth day: Wednesday, April 30, 5:00 p.m., in St. Peter's Basilica. For the Papal Chapel. Celebrated by Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, vice-dean of the College of Cardinals.

Sixth day: Thursday, May 1, 5:00 p.m., in St. Peter's Basilica. For the Roman Curia. Celebrated by Cardinal Kevin Joseph Farrell, Camerlengo of the Roman Church.

Seventh day: Friday, May 2, 5:00 p.m., in St. Peter's Basilica. For the Eastern Churches. Celebrated by Cardinal Claudio Gugerotti, former prefect of the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches.

Eighth day: Saturday, May 3, 5:00 p.m., in St. Peter's Basilica. For members of institutes of consecrated life and societies of apostolic life. Celebrated by Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, former pro-prefect of the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.

Ninth day: Sunday, May 4, 5:00 p.m., in St. Peter's Basilica. For the Papal Chapel. Celebrated by Cardinal Dominique Mamberti, protodeacon of the College of Cardinals.

Only cardinals may concelebrate these Masses. All the faithful may attend. The conclave may begin after this period of mourning.
