The world is united again around the Vicar of Christ, as the Church leads prayer for his eternal rest.

Pope Francis' funeral on April 16 in St. Peter's Square unites the world in mourning. Here are some numbers:

More than 160 delegations of governments have been announced, including 54 heads of state, 12 reigning sovereigns, and 15 heads of government. In addition, nine international organizations and the European Union are present.

Nearly 100 representatives of other faiths and religions are present.

4,000 concelebrating priests during the Mass, as well as 220 cardinals and 750 bishops or archbishops.

More than 4,700 journalists have requested accreditation to follow this event, in addition to the 600 journalists permanently accredited to the Holy See.

250,000 people came to pay homage to Pope Francis before his remains lying in state in St. Peter's between April 23 and 25.

200,000 people are expected to attend the funeral mass (some 50,000 people are in St. Peter's Square, 150,000 in the surrounding area).
