Leo XIV encourages Catholics to go beyond their parishes

Speaking to the Pontifical Mission Societies, the Pope emphasized the need to go out to bring Christ to all people, building unity and peace in Christ's love.

Leo XIV encouraged Catholics to “transcend the confines of our individual parishes, dioceses, and nations” when he received participants in the Annual General Assembly of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) on May 22, 2025, at the Vatican.

Before these missionaries from more than 120 countries, he emphasized “the urgency of bringing Christ to all people” in a world “wounded by war.”
