Picture this: You're a Catholic professional juggling meetings, meal planning, prayer, travel, and maybe a baby on your hip. You need a planner that works everywhere, and that won't make you feel awkward pulling it out in either a board meeting or at a moms’ group.

That's exactly what Carolyn Madigan and her sister-in-law, Mariana Madigan, created with Solé Atelier. This elegant luxury planner will launch in September 2025.

“Using a physical planner like the Solé is one major way I can decrease the amount of time I spend looking at a screen. I look forward to using the Solé in particular as it will make this choice enjoyable and beautiful because of its thoughtful design,” said Olivia Reblando, a customer who enthusiastically pre-ordered it.

Made for the high-achieving Catholic woman

What sets the Solé Atelier planner apart? Carolyn Madigan shared with Aleteia a few of its distinctive features.

  • Minimal and versatile: “Minimalistic in design with nothing to call attention to the fact that it is the Catholic planner, it can move undetected to wherever your life and work take you.”
  • Professional support: “It integrates professional practices, as OptimalWork & Catholic Women in Business are affiliates. Made to inspire high ideals with concrete steps, it has tools for deep reflection, personal routines, and intentional planning, all directed towards growth.”
  • Catholic inspiration: “Grounded in faith, it gives the reminders needed to keep Our Lord top of heart and mind with the pope’s monthly intention, all the feast days of the liturgical calendar, daily prayer intentions, a daily Gospel quote, Catholic prayers and an examination of conscience, as well as a space for weekly reflection and a monthly review. All of this comes with the understanding that by putting Him first, our time and capacity to work well will be multiplied.”
  • Beautifully made: “It’s a product that exudes quality in the details and sparks joy in use, from the linen hardcover, to the lay-flat binding, double bookmarks, pocket for prayer cards, thick paper, and many other features. It was designed out of love.”

An interview with the founder

Carolyn Madigan answered a few questions from Aleteia about Solé Atelier.

What inspired you to create Solé Atelier?

It all started with two friends driving home from Chicago. In talking about dream ideas, a planner came up. Not just any planner, but one that was sleek, professional, and Catholic.

It would be physical to help us be intentional, and would have space for integrating our professional goals and interior lives.

We couldn’t find anything on the market that could move seamlessly into all the spaces we were occupying.

Fast forward a couple years later and we’re now sisters-in-law with babies, living in two different countries, and learning how to juggle big life changes. Our schedules were packed with caring for our families, hosting parties, working full-time, and volunteering. We needed a tool to tackle these responsibilities with intentionality and joy.

From there, we took a leap of faith after interviewing over 30 women and surveying over 100 and crafted the first Catholic, professional planner, integrating faith and professional practices for excellence in work (all work, including being a parent!).

We created a new category of lifestyle goods with subtle Catholic elements meant to enrich your interior life and be versatile enough for all environments. We’re on a mission to craft products that inspire bridging the human and the divine for the striving professional.

What inspired the name?

When brainstorming our mission, we wanted to create products that helped us to maintain our “sole” or singular focus in our day to day to be better present, as well as something that was inspiring on the level of our soul with the end goal of being saints in our ordinary work… and since we’re both Hispanic, a little bit of olé (that is, “party”)!

Who is this planner for?

Our target is professional women, whether CEO, mom, or both. Our products are meant to move from the kitchen to the boardroom, to the cocktail hour, to the nursery, seamlessly.
